Danish M/96 Backpack M/84 camo
Don't mistake this old school piece of equipment from the early 90's.
It may have been replaced by the newer M/17 backpack system by Karriemore SF. Yet even after 20 years, this backpack still sees use among the Danish Armed Forces.
It's a simple design offering one big 70L compartment to hold all your needs. It comes with a big outer pocket perfect for a canteen or a mess kit. On top of the pack, it features a zipper pocket that can hold the size of 2 MRE's worth of stuff or whatever equipment or snacks you might need close at hand without opening the pack. Just like its newer brother, it sports the NATO style zipper side panels and has 3 side straps that can be used to tie a nice stick or something that is a bit more spicy.
So if you are going for a hike in the woods, going out for milk and cigarettes, or peace keeping in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This backpack can carry it all.
